Review: 7 Wonders Duel
Game Title: 7 Wonders Duel
Publisher: Repos Productions/Asmodee
Designer: Antoine Bauza and Bruno Cathala
Plays: 2
Ages: 10+
Time investment: 30 minutes
Based on the popular card drafting game 7 Wonders, this game is made for exactly two players. You draft from a pyramid of cards rather than a hand of cards. Your choices are important because each card you remove uncovers other cards that your opponent might find useful to the strategy they are pursuing. There are three victory conditions and the game is over as soon as one player achieves one of them. All of the symbology from 7 Wonders carries over to Duel making it very easy to pick up if you are familiar with the original.
What Lee likes about 7 Wonders Duel:
This is the two player game I was hoping for! It’s fast and similar in play to the original 7 Wonders. I really like the science and military victory conditions.
What Nicole likes about 7 Wonders Duel:
This is a great two player game. Lee and I often play games with just us two. This game while shorter, still feels like a deep game and I enjoy it immensely. It’s size make it easy to toss in our luggage when we travel.
