Review: Istanbul
Title: Istanbul
Publisher: AEG
Designer: Rudiger Dorn
Plays: 2-5
Ages: 10+
Time investment: 40-60 minutes
Players move their merchant around a modular board consisting of mosques, post office, warehouses, and other things. With the help of their assistants they will buy gems at the gem dealer or acquire the rarest of resources at the black market.
Throughout the game players will be dropping off assistants for every move they make. The more assistants you have the more turns you’ll get without having to retrace your steps to get them back.
In the end, the player to acquire or buy 5 gems will win the game.
What Lee says about Istanbul:
I like the modular board for this game. Even though it’s a shorter game than what i normally like its still got great depth and it can be tough to win.
What Nicole says about Istanbul:
I also like the modular board and how it can be arranged differently each time you play. I also like how you don’t have to do always do certain things to win. There are many ways to get gems and win.
